2025 BMW M4 Convertible First Look Review: A Drop-Top With No Equal

BMW is gradually replacing its old-style instrument cluster/infotainment layout with its new Curved Display, and the M4 Convertible got that upgrade for 2024, already. This setup consists of a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen in a single panel. For 2025, the system is powered by iDrive 8.5, so customers have access to the latest software.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant forms part of this upgrade, allowing for control of various functions by voice or touch. The three-zone climate control system is now managed by a dedicated menu below the display, but we do miss the older physical controls, especially in a performance car like this. As with other M cars, there are M-specific displays for the screens, reminding you that you’re not in an ordinary BMW. If you prefer keeping your eyes on the road at all times, there is a head-up display.

The ventilation outlets are also new, with different toggles for adjusting the direction of the airflow. For the ambient lighting system, contour lighting around the air vents adds an extra touch of pizzazz to the atmosphere inside the M4.
