2025 Kia Carnival Reaches The US With New Hybrid Engine, Daring Styling, And Improved Cabin

The familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine finally has a stablemate in the form of Kia’s 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid powertrain. Paired with a 54 kW motor, the electrified variant has combined outputs of 242 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. That’s nearly as much as the larger V6 (still available) that produces 287 hp and 260 lb-ft.

Carnival Hybrid models receive unique features, such as Electrification-Vehicle Motion Control, which allows the driver to adjust the regenerative braking, and E-Handling, which improves cornering characteristics. E-Ride uses specially-tuned shock absorbers for a smoother ride, while E-Evasive Handling Assist aids stability during an emergency maneuver.

All models receive Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and other driving assists as standard while lane-changing systems and junction crossing aids are also available. Highway Driving Assist 2 can also be specified, along with navigation-based Smart Cruise Control.
