2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT First Ride Review: So Fast It Hurts

The straight-line speed is bonkers, but it was not the focus with this car. Porsche wanted to change people’s perceptions that an EV can’t be a track car. To aid in that effort, we stepped into the Taycan Turbo GT piloted by Jorg Bergmeister, a Porsche ambassador who has won races at Le Mans, Daytona, and Sebring.

Bergmeister immediately launches the car onto the track, screeching all four tires in the process. He warns that the tires “still need to be warmed up,” a frightening statement that is then followed up by some aggressive yanking at the steering wheel to put some heat into the rubber.

The second track at the Porsche Experience Center (PEC) adds 1.3 miles, including elements from famous racetracks around the world. There is a Nurburgring Nordschleife Carousel and a 25-foot Corkscrew from Laguna Seca, both tracks where the Turbo GT has set EV lap records.
