Chrysler needs new products, so it’s nice to see the unveiling of a new concept called the Halcyon. According to Chrysler, this new concept is an example of its fully electric future vision, but this is not the first time we’ve heard the American automaker make this statement.
The first EV that was supposed to preview the future was the Portal Concept, which debuted in 2018. After that, Chrysler introduced a production-ready Airflow at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2022. The Airflow Graphite Concept followed a few months later, and now we’re starting all over again with the Halcyon. Apparently, the Airflow is still alive, but it won’t be named that and won’t look the same.
Hopefully, the Halcyon is a turning point for the brand because it only had the Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid left. Production of the 300 and the limited edition 300C ended on the last day of 2023.
The Halcyon won’t become an actual production model, but it will inspire the net generation of electric Chryslers. In true concept form, it’s meant to preview technologies of the future, and there are five that we hope see that light of day.
