Audi's All-Electric RS6 Sedan Will Be Here Sooner Than You'd Think

But before the RS6 e-tron takes over, the V8-powered model will bow out spectacularly. Reportedly known to Audi insiders as the RS6 GT Avant, this hardcore model will reportedly offer a 19 hp/37 lb-ft increase over the current RS6 Performance, which is already blessed with healthy outputs of 621 hp and 627 lb-ft.

This will likely be the last-ever combustion-engine vehicle to wear the RS6 badge and should serve as a fitting send-off for the wagon. Those close to the project told Autocar that the so-called RS6 GT Avant will have a limited top speed of 190 mph and will sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds.

If true, this would support comments made by Lichte earlier this year: “I promise you, both EVs and ICE will be impressive. Especially the last-generation ICE RS models, they will be […] mind-blowing.” With styling inspired by the RS6 Avant GTO concept, everyone’s favorite performance wagon is about to get much better.
