Inside, the cabin has been modernized with a 10.25-inch central touchscreen. Kia’s press release also mentions wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which would be a first on this size screen, having previously been locked to the smaller eight-inch unit. The screen will also simultaneously support two Bluetooth phone connections, with USB-C ports for rapid charging. Other amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a digital gauge cluster, and 64-color ambient lighting.
Standard safety features aren’t mentioned in the press release but will likely differ from what will be offered in the US market. Kia includes many active and passive systems as standard in the US, including stability and traction control, a rearview camera, rear occupant alert, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and forward collision avoidance.
An all-new model will have to match the above, if not improve on it.
