Another Jeep model is leaving the lineup in the name of electrification. The American automaker announced the EcoDiesel-powered Gladiator will be discontinued, and a limited Rubicon FarOut edition will mark the end of production. This also signifies the end of the line for the EcoDiesel mill in Jeep’s US lineup.
Based on the Gladiator Rubicon, the FarOut combines the EcoDiesel’s whopping 442 lb-ft of torque with exclusive goodies. Limited to 1,000 units, the ordering book is open until the end of September only, so folks who want to own perhaps the final diesel-powered Jeep pickup truck should get a move on fast.
A bunch of graphics and badges will separate the FarOut from the rest of the range, including a “Diesel 3.0L” hood graphic, a “3.0D” tailgate badge, and a “FarOut” tailgate badge. The exterior will also feature 17-inch aluminum wheels in 33-inch mud-terrain tires, a Satin black grille, and a Mopar spray-in headliner.
