Infiniti QX Monograph Concept Previews New QX80

While we’re on the subject of animated light, the concept casts a path of light on the ground as part of its welcome sequence. This takes inspiration from a bird in flight, mimicking the movement of wings. Also worth a mention are the massive turbine-inspired wheels, which are machine-finished and boast red accents on gloss black and shadow chrome spokes. Red also appears in the glasshouse, with the windows lightly tinted to complement a new six-layer paint finish called Akane. This color-shifting paint aims to capture many of the hues seen during sunset, while a panoramic roof with a “Kimono fold” pattern lets natural light in.

We suspect the roof may be simplified on the production car, and the paint would likely only be a special-order option. The wheels may be a bit too detailed for production, but other than that, this looks like a dead ringer for the next QX80. What doesn’t make production here may be seen on other products, with four new models expected by 2027.
