2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is the most powerful version yet

Porsche will dial up the Cayenne lineup’s performance with its most powerful variant yet.

The 2024 Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, available in crossover and coupe body styles, will arrive in the second quarter.

The crossover will start at $148,550, while the coupe version starts at $153,050. Both prices include shipping. The midsize Cayenne is Porsche’s second-best seller after the Macan compact crossover, accounting for 8,911 sales in the first half of this year.

This summer’s midcycle freshening feels more like a redesign. It features a significantly changed powertrain, chassis, design and in-car technology.

But the third-generation Cayenne is likely the final combustion engine version. Production is expected to end in early 2029, according to AutoForecast Solutions.

Porsche aims to put sports car performance in a crossover body with the latest electrified Cayenne variant, which can do a 0-to-60-mph sprint in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 183 mph.

The Turbo E-Hybrid pairs a 4.0-liter V-8 twin-turbo engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined 729 hp — an extra 59 hp from the Turbo S E-Hybrid that it replaces.

In comparison, the V-6 standard Cayenne delivers 348 hp, while the V-8 S puts out 468 hp and the Turbo GT 650 hp.

The latest hybrid is powered by a 25.9-kilowatt-hour battery mounted below the trunk.

The new models include an adaptive air suspension system with new two-chamber, two-valve technology as standard equipment. This allows separate adjustments for compression and rebound settings, improving comfort and handling, according to the automaker. The suspension also reduces dive and squat motions when accelerating and braking.

Both body styles feature a Turbo-specific front fascia with larger air intakes and air blades in high-gloss black. The wheel arches and the lower rear fascia are painted in body color, giving the vehicle a sporty appearance. Model-specific accents include a pair of brushed aluminum dual-exhaust tailpipes and red brake calipers.

Inside the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, aluminum trim on the dash and doors and a roof liner in Race-Tex material generate a sporty ambiance.

Standard equipment includes a heated GT Sport steering wheel and 18-way adjustable leather sport seats.
