The same will likely be true of the film, as we can see Ferrari (or Adam Driver) going through multiple emotions in a little over 60 seconds. We see joy, irritation, anger, and severe trauma as he tries to get over the death of his son, Dino. The film also doesn’t shy away from his affair with Lina Lardi (played by Shailene Woodley) and the path Ferrari had to walk until he eventually accepted Piero Ferrari as his son.
Mann also touches on the difference between Ferrari, the man, and Ferrari, the myth. We all know the mythical businessman who stuck it to Ford and was always immaculately dressed and wearing his signature sunglasses. But Mann will also focus on the other Ferrari, a simple man who enjoyed breakfast with his kids and intimate moments with his wife Laura (Penelope Cruz).
