The study noted some owners get rid of their EVs even before clocking the said recommended mileages for reducing carbon footprint. In turn, these owners do more harm to the environment. Woodley suggested that these folks might be better off driving ICE cars instead. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

“If you’re somebody who drives a fair amount, then you are likely well-suited to drive an electric vehicle,” said Woodley. “If, on the other hand, you’re someone who seldom drives, and the vehicle is mostly going to sit in the garage, then you may counterintuitively be better off owning a gasoline-powered vehicle.”

It’s basic science, and it confirms what EV naysayers have been professing for years. While improvements in efficiency are being made every day, we have a long way to go before EVs make a significant impact on saving the planet.
