Lexus Teases Electric Concept Ahead Of Japan Mobility Show

Dubbed the All-Electric Sedan Concept, this rakish four-door could be our first look yet at a battery-powered Lexus IS successor. The current model has been around for quite some time, and an electric replacement could be what Lexus needs to battle Tesla’s Model 3.

We expect this concept and future Lexus EVs to adopt the LF-ZC, LF-ZL, LF-ZV, and LF-ZA model names. These names, which Lexus has trademarked, were recently leaked. Aside from the legendary LF-A, the ‘LF” terminology has often been reserved for the marque’s concept vehicles.

Then again, the vehicle teased above could also break cover as a radically-styled Porsche Taycan rival. Lexus and its parent company, Toyota, plan to introduce revolutionary battery technology that will change how we view EVs.

Thanks to solid-state battery tech, Japan’s leading automaker promises EVs with a range of 500 miles in 2026 and 600 miles in 2027.
