On paper, the Lexus TX is $10,630 more expensive than the Toyota Grand Highlander, but the real difference is significantly smaller. Yes, the TX costs more than its Toyota counterpart, but you get more for your money. It’s difficult to point out every standard feature that comes in the Lexus, but some highlights include more power and torque, a larger touchscreen, bigger wheels, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a wireless charger, and twice as many speakers (12).
It’s a bit unfair to compare the Grand Highlander XLE’s $43,070 starting price to the base TX’s $53,700 price tag. The TX is closer (but not identical) to the Grand Highlander Limited, which costs $47,860. The Grand Highlander Hybrid is only $1,600 more, but there is no Lexus equivalent. We still don’t have pricing for the TX 550h+.
That just leaves the Hybrid Max and TX 500h F Sport Performance. The quickest Grand Highlander costs $54,040, while the TX is a whopping $68,000. The Lexus is nicer than the Toyota, but that premium becomes tougher to justify. The Lexus badge might be worth the additional cost based on the superior dealer experience alone, but buyers looking for value will be perfectly content with the Grand Highlander.
