For Toyota and Lexus EVs equipped with the Combined Charging System (CCS), the automaker will also provide an adapter to enable NACS charging by 2025. “With NACS, customers will have access to more charging options, especially DC fast chargers, allowing greater confidence to travel to even more destinations,” said Toyota in a press release.
However, Toyota isn’t the first Japanese marque to announce the switch to NACS. Nissan was the first to do so, and the brand will equip its EVs, such as the Ariya, with the NACS by 2025. Among the latest to partner with Tesla were the BMW Group, Hyundai, and Jaguar.
