The Toyota EPU electric truck concept is close to the size of the hot-selling Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. Its proportions are close to the Blue Oval compact truck; the massive dual-cab eats up most of the length, compromising the cargo space behind the cabin. That said, the EPU is a lifestyle truck rather than a full-blown hauler, reflected in the imagery that came with the press release.
Be that as it may, Toyota showcases its ingenuity by adding a folding tailgate that can serve as an extension to the rather short bed. The automaker also claims that its monocoque body allows for a “versatile deck space that caters to a broader range of user applications.”
Inside, the front row features a minimalist design with a two-screen affair and a yoke-style steering wheel found in the Lexus RZ. There are plenty of storage points, too.
