Here's The First Electric Toyota Land Cruiser

The Land Cruiser Se is generally bigger than the US-spec Land Cruiser. Besides the longer wheelbase, the BEV’s body is 9 inches longer, too, while marginally wider by 0.3 inches. However, the conventionally powered LC is 6.1 inches taller than the BEV Concept.

That’s because the BEV Concept has a monocoque body, a first for the Land Cruiser nameplate that traditionally uses a ladder-frame structure. This could irk off-road enthusiasts who see the Land Cruiser as a robust body-on-frame SUV. Still, Toyota said the new unibody construction should offer “highly responsive handling and confidence in tackling rough terrain.”

Toyota also touts the BEV to have a high-torque driving performance, which we don’t doubt, given its electric powertrain. You can turn your attention to Rivian if you’re having doubts about the off-roading prowess of EVs.
