2024 Porsche Panamera Cabin Revealed with Trio of Screens

  • Porsche has shown off the interior design of the 2024 Panamera, which will be unveiled in full on November 24.
  • Three screens sit on the dashboard, from a 12.6-inch gauge cluster to a central display and a screen for the front passenger.
  • The gear selector migrates to the dashboard, reducing clutter on the center console.

A major overhaul for the Porsche Panamera is just around the corner, with the next-generation model debuting on November 24. After we drove a camouflaged prototype of the curvaceous four-door earlier this year—finding it a rapid, sure-footed highway-miles-eater—Porsche has decided to unveil the 2024 Panamera’s interior design, showing what appears to be a classy and intuitive cabin.

Peek Inside the Panamera

Porsche says the “driver-centered” design draws upon the learnings from the electric Taycan and highlights that the controls directly related to driving are all clustered around the steering wheel for ease of use while on the move. As on other Porsches, the drive-mode selector and gauge-cluster toggle switch are positioned on the steering wheel. The 12.6-inch gauge cluster sports a curved design, while an optional head-up display can also be controlled from the steering wheel.

The 2024 Panamera follows the Taycan’s lead by shifting the gear selector to the dashboard, where it sits between the gauge cluster and the central touchscreen. This frees up room on the center console for the climate controls, which use a mix of physical and touch controls. The air vents are now finless and are controlled entirely electronically, with the option to set up personalized climate-control modes. The central storage bin also grows in capacity.

Porsche didn’t reveal how large the main touchscreen is, but it is joined by a second screen—also of unspecified dimensions—in front of the passenger, a trend that has become increasingly prevalent as an optional extra, appearing on vehicles like the 2024 Mercedes E-class or Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The rear-seat passengers get their own screen to control climate, music, and seat-comfort settings. An analog clock remains perched atop the dashboard, while ambient lighting stretches across the width of the panel, a first for Porsche.

Better seat foam materials are said to improve comfort, and the long-wheelbase Executive models feature a “newly contoured rear seat system” that is supposed to improve ergonomics for back-seat passengers. Porsche also says that for the first time it will offer non-leather upholstery options in the Panamera, mentioning materials like Race-Tex, a sporty microfiber partially made from recycled polyester, or Pepita fabric, more commonly known as houndstooth. More details on the Panamera, including the specific sizes for the two front touchscreens, will be revealed at the end of the month.
