By now, you’ve seen the media reports. Verstappen is not a fan of the race and is annoyed with all of the Las Vegas add-ons. I have to admit, being here on the ground, it does seem more like a party, with the race being a sideshow.
Does that mean Verstappen will put his car into the wall at turn one and fly home as soon as possible? Uhm, no. Verstappen gives no quarter. He’s already won the championship but still has records to break. More than that, it’s in his blood to win. He could have gifted Checo a win by now to help his bid to come second, but it’s not in Verstappen’s nature, and Perez wouldn’t want that. You win a race on merit.
Basically, we have an angry Max who doesn’t want to be here. He will drive his car at 120% and phone his private plane to get ready on the penultimate lap.
Still, this race is unique because everyone is going in blind. Is that the edge Lando Norris needs to claim his first victory?
