New Toyota Land Cruiser Sells Out In 30 Minutes

There’s obviously a massive appetite for the new Land Cruiser in Europe. Most European Union countries have similar tastes in vehicles, and we don’t think this will be an isolated incident. If we had to guess, it’s a combination of the Land Cruiser’s wicked retro styling and supposedly frugal nature. Confirmed figures aren’t available yet, but Toyota estimates a combined fuel consumption of 27 mpg, which is mighty impressive for what it considers a full-size SUV.

For proof, also consider that Germany still has access to the Land Cruiser Prado, essentially the last-generation Lexus GX equipped with a 2.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel.

Reservations for the new Land Cruiser have yet to be opened in the USA, but with an arrival time set for the spring of 2024, we expect Toyota to open the portal early in the new year. Only 5,000 units of the highly desirable First Edition will be made, and if Germany’s performance set the standard, they’ll be gone in less than three hours.
