One of the displays is said to be Advan’s first developed Formula car. Driver Takahashi Kenji used the car to develop the brand’s motorsports tires, which are still used today in motorsports series such as Japan’s Super GT, where Advan is an official tire supplier, along with Bridgestone and Dunlop.
Advan also had the pleasure of joining the 1984 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing third in its first attempt with a Porsche 956B.
There are several Japanese Touring Car Championship (JTCC) cars in the secret location, particularly classic Toyota Corolla race cars with the Advan livery, but behind one Corolla is what appears to be the first-generation Tesla Roadster. We’re not sure where the EV was used, but it’s cool to see one of the roughly 2,450 produced wearing the black and red livery. Still, we’d rather stare at the combustion cars.
