While the 300 was offered with four and six-cylinder engines over the course of its life, the magic always lay with its V8 offerings, and this started with the 300C. The top-of-the-line luxury trim, the C offered miles of leather and real wood on the inside with chrome details and 18-inch wheels on the outside. Where it really shined was under the hood, where a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 produced 340 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque sent through a five-speed automatic to the rear wheels (AWD was an option). Independent testing showed 0-60 times in just under six seconds.
When the updated second generation was introduced in 2011, the 300C followed suit, still offering the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 but with power increased to 363 hp and 394 lb-ft.
It stayed mainly the same until the end, but Chrysler had one last trick up its sleeve for the nameplate, a highly limited-run 2023 Chrysler 300C. This model was equipped with the 6.4-liter HEMI V8, producing 485 hp and 475 lb-ft, along with a bunch of other performance goodies. The last of these models rolled off the line just a few weeks ago, signaling a bittersweet end to the 300C as we knew it.
