As mentioned, the build is powered by a Toyota 2JZ engine commonly known in models like the Supra Mk4. With its reliable cast iron block, the engine can easily push to a thousand horses.
However, for this particular Camry dragster, the 2JZ, coupled with 12 720lb/h FT injectors, has a billet block and a heavily modified cylinder head, albeit still using the factory Toyota cast.
After running on a dyno several times, the peak number achieved was 2,975 hp at the rear wheels via a seven-speed lock-up transmission. We’re expecting about 3,300 hp at the crank, which, hopefully, would translate well on a quarter-mile drag strip.
