Hyundai Will Make Hydrogen From Plastics And Poo

Despite myriad benefits, hydrogen technology has yet to take off like battery-electric vehicles. Aside from the Nexo, the Toyota Mirai is the only other hydrogen vehicle sold in the US (again, only in California). BMW is also trialing hydrogen-powered iX5 SUVs globally. But a lack of fueling infrastructure is one of hydrogen technology’s biggest hurdles.

Elsewhere, Hyundai Motor Company intends to embrace AI and software to create a “user-centric mobility ecosystem.” The automaker announced a new ‘Software-defined Everything’ (SDx) strategy that it plans to use for everything, from moving devices to ecosystems and fleets.

In the near future, the marque says vehicles will become AI machines that can learn, improving customer experience.

This, says Hyundai, will meet users’ needs whenever required. As part of this, Hyundai will develop a new infotainment system (presumably through Hyundai Mobis) to support a dedicated vehicle app market. Furthermore, Hyundai plans to integrate its large language model (LLM) into its navigation system and AI assistant.
