It’s worth noting that Ferrari has explored means of adapting the cabin to various body types before, and Lamborghini has patented adjustable seats with independently moving parts. This new idea from Ferrari seems to be a mixture of and an improvement on both. However, this design sees the seat fixed to a central spine in the cabin, with this housing actuators and motors for moving the seat with the aid of hydraulically operated bars.
It works by separating the seat into as many as seven individual pieces, each of which would have three degrees of movement and each of which would move along Cartesian planes, meaning up, down, forward, back, left, and right in a straight line.
This means that thigh support, head restraints, lateral bolsters, and even the seat your butt fills can all be moved in a variety of directions to meet your exact requirements.
