Sadly, the modern V8-powered Wrangler hasn’t been with us for very long. It was initially revealed in concept form nearly four years ago. The production version arrived toward the end of 2020 with a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter V8, marking the first time in almost four decades since the model was last offered with an eight-cylinder motor.
Little has changed in the years since, and while the stock 33-inch tires and 17-inch beadlock wheels pair nicely with heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, a 3.73 final drive ratio, and a transmission torque converter lockup control system, we hope that this farewell variant takes things a little further with 37-inch wheels, a little more power, and perhaps some standard accessories like a winch and light bars.
We’ll let you know more as we learn it. Until then, we’ve reached out to Stellantis requesting confirmation of the special edition and will update this article with any replies we receive.
