Hennessey's Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Will Push Up To 1,700 Horsepower

What we know for sure is that the Hennessey Demon 1700 will be very limited in numbers – only a dozen will be made. If you’re one of the 3,000 owners of the Challenger SRT Demon 170 and keen on taking Hennessey’s new creation, you may want to get a move on and contact the company ASAP.

Hennessey touts that the Demon 1700 should be able to run a quarter mile in 7.9 seconds at 175-180 mph. That’s a full second quicker than the stock Demon 170’s NHRA-certified 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph, even beating the Rimac Nevera’s 8.25-second quarter-mile sprint, the current fastest electric vehicle.

Not announced in the video (but mentioned in the description) is the establishment of the Hennessey Special Operations (HSO), which will oversee the creation of the Demon 1700. More details about Hennessey’s new arm abound, so let’s keep an ear on the ground.
