2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV First Look Review: Plush And Pretty Plug-In Hybrid

It’s not easy to tell apart the CX-70 and CX-90 at a glance, which is both a good and bad thing. On the one hand, the CX-70 is just as handsome a design as its three-row sibling, but perhaps more distinction between the two would have been preferred by some.

Built on the brand’s platform for large vehicles, the exterior of the Mazda CX-70 PHEV features a wide and low front fascia, a confident stance, black contrasting accents, and available 21-inch wheels with a black metal and machine-cut finish. As on the CX-90, the headlight clusters flow into the large grille, which is framed on the sides and bottom section. PHEV badging is found on the sides of this particular model, in case you aren’t sure what powers it.

Round back, it has broad taillight clusters that are almost identical to those on the CX-90.

Mazda made no mention of available exterior colors for the CX-70 PHEV, but it looks suave and sophisticated even in white. Mazda’s signature Soul Red Crystal Metallic should make an appearance, as could other shades from the CX-90’s palette like Platinum Quartz and Deep Crystal Blue Mica.
