Tesla Recalls Nearly 2.2 Million Cars, Including The Cybertruck, For The Silliest Reason

The number of affected vehicles, roughly all the Tesla produced, covers 2012-2023 Model S, 2016-2014 Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, 2019-2024 Model Y, and 2024 Cybertruck units.

This will be the first Tesla Cybertruck recall from the government agency following the start of its deliveries in November 2023. The electric pickup truck has also been around for quite some time and had its first reported crash last December.

The issue was discovered during a routine compliance involving a 2023 Model Y on January 8. After days of investigation, Tesla voluntarily made a recall determination and identified three warranty claims related to the condition on January 24. Fortunately, there were no reports of crashes or injuries related to the issue.
