General Motors has announced that the OnStar One Essentials will become standard in its cars or 2025 MY cars, adding features including Automatic Crash Response, remote vehicle commands, and navigation and voice assistance features.
The OnStar service was a $1,500 subscription-based option before becoming a standard in high-end models and trims. With the announcement, it will become standard in new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles, with the 2025 Chevrolet Trax and Buick Envista the first models to benefit from it.
Customers will enjoy the OnStar One Essentials, as well as the OnStar One Business Essentials, for eight years at no additional cost. Meanwhile, Cadillac customers will get additional premium OnStar services for three years.
