Dodge is making it easier than ever to do all sorts of muscle car things in the Daytona. Every new Daytona comes standard with eAWD, but so-called Race Options like Donut Mode, Drift Mode, Line Lock, Launch Control, and Race Prep are available to satisfy hooligans.
In Donut and Line-Lock modes, you can smoke the rear wheels to either show off or warm the tires before a launch. In Drift Mode, most of the power is sent to the rear, while the motor up front will help maintain the slip angle. The adaptive dampers go entirely soft at the front and as stiff as possible at the rear, which is the perfect setup for drifting.
Race Prep is a two-part feature: in drag mode, you’ll get the optimal power output through a battery that’s already warmed and won’t take any punishment because the race will end in roughly 12 seconds, while in track mode, you start with a colder battery, allowing for more track time.
