Toyota continues to tease the 2025 4Runner SUV, which it previously hinted at with a video of its power rear window sliding down and an image of its boldly styled rear bumper. Toyota today revealed that the 4Runner will be offered with a Trailhunter model, a moniker first seen on the 2024 Tacoma pickup.
Like the Tacoma Trailhunter, the 4Runner edition is expected to come packed with off-road accessories. The Trailhunter designation is geared towards customers who are interested in overland exploration. While we don’t yet know any specifics, we imagine the 4Runner will sport similar gear as the Tacoma Trailhunter.
The Tacoma Trailhunter comes with the top-of-the-line iForce Max hybrid powertrain. That pairs with a disconnecting front anti-roll bar and a wider, lifted suspension setup. The Trailhunter also has unique Old Man Emu dampers with remote reservoirs that are tuned for carrying heavy loads in the bed and on the roof. The Trailhunter also comes standard with an onboard compressor.
We expect many of these same add-ons to appear on the 4Runner Trailhunter, but all will be revealed tomorrow.
