The Alpine Performance Platform (APP) will underpin the new-age A310 and is touted as a more practical alternative to the A310 thanks to the addition of two back seats, like in the 911. But despite electric underpinnings and room for four, Alpine claims that this new model’s handling ability will make it “an icon of future sports cars.”
According to the brand’s marketing director, Bruce Pillard, every new EV from the automaker will be outstanding to drive: “If all our future models are going to be electric, they’re going to be true Alpines. They will have the DNA of agility and lightness. Even if it’s an electric car with a battery inside, you’re going to feel the lightness. That’s very important.”
While we’re on the subject, Alpine’s design director, Antony Villain (who has the most epic surname ever), said that the electric A110 that will replace the existing model will take the sports car “to the next level,” adding that he wants this car to be a “reference point for the next 50 years.” Lofty goals, indeed.
