Alpine Reveals Le Mans Prototype And It Looks Spectacular

This month, the first start-up of the A424_ß takes place, followed by its first shakedown at the end of July. Then comes a test session at Circuit Paul Ricard in August, one at Motorland Aragon the following month, and the third at Jerez in October. November will see it arrive in the US for wind tunnel testing. Later that month, it returns to Aragon for its first 24-hour endurance test, followed by a test session in Portimao in December. Before the end of the year, it will undergo FIA homologation, and in March 2024, its first race will be the 6 Hours of Qatar.

Alpine specifically chose the LMDh category to help it penetrate the American market as its less cost-intensive than the LMH category, and that extra cash will help it set up a local presence soon, giving Americans a new alternative to the likes of the Porsche 718 Cayman and Lotus Emira.

With Alpine’s lofty ambitions and a racer that reveals its “vision of the future,” we may soon have a roadgoing hypercar with French flair, too. Quelle joie!
