BMW 2002 Body Sitting On Subaru WRX Chassis Is One Mad Build

As the build is based on a Subaru WRX, it is powered by a turbocharged 2.0 L EJ205 flat-four, making 227 hp and 217 lb-ft from the factory. The engine appears stock but might soon receive more modifications, as a Borla muffler can be seen in one of his latest build updates. The car retains a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to all four corners.

Since space was tight within the 2002’s bodywork, the radiator has been relocated to the rear of the car, with custom work done to give it the airflow needed. That also required more custom work, effectively removing its trunk section to accommodate the cooling equipment. The car’s rear had to be reinforced, too, plus the cabin needed to be separated from the rear. The interior isn’t there yet, but Matt already has a plan.
