BMW M5 Touring Could Reach The US Thanks To Audi RS6 Avant

Unofficial renderings from Future Cars Now on Instagram should give us an idea of what the upcoming M5 Touring could look like.

As a benchmark, the current Audi RS6 Avant is offering a high-performance package with its 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine good for 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. BMW could pit that against the M5 Touring expected to be powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid engine good for 738 hp and 738 ft-lb of torque.

If the powertrain sounds familiar, it is the same one in the BMW XM Label Red, an all-electric full-size luxury crossover dubbed as the “most powerful M model ever.” That said, US car buyers could be up for a treat with the M5 Touring as it sounds like the wagon will pack serious power under the hood.
