Brand New BAC Mono Supercar Is A Toned-Down Mono R

As usual, a six-speed sequential transmission is the only option, and buyers can choose differing gear ratios depending on where they intend to use the car. Ideally, a buyer would select short gears for a small, twisty track and longer ones where top speed is more important than acceleration. The Mono is usable on the road, but we doubt it’ll be the preferred grocery-getter in any garage.

As for styling changes, BAC says that the shark-nose front and LED headlights call to mind the Mono R. It also says that “every element and every surface have been carefully honed to enhance aerodynamics,” culminating in a spoiler that extends over the rear arches. To anyone but the most obsessive fans, the new Mono looks identical to the old one – not that we’re complaining; this is still one of the most visually-arresting vehicles on the planet.

Orders have already opened, and the first example will be delivered after Monterey Car Week festivities conclude. Pricing is not mentioned, but expect to pay north of $250,000.
