The pistons have thermal barrier coatings for enhanced strength, reduced heat transfer, and improved performance in extreme conditions. They also include tapered squish zones and a pressure accumulation groove to ensure optimal combustion efficiency and power production.
MotoIQ’s team also used SuperTech valves, guides, and springs. The titanium retainers and WPC-treated valve springs improve overall valve train stability, reduce the risk of valve float under high boost, and contribute to the engine’s long-lasting performance. The hand-ported cylinder head ensures high port velocity for quick response and low-end torque.
With this particular build, MotoIQ’s confident the engine can withstand high boost and horsepower and still run for hundreds of thousands of miles – a perfect match to that Tacoma that can outlast any apocalypse.
