Automakers are continually exploring creative solutions in efforts to give electric cars a soul, and Stellantis is among them, filing a patent with the World Intellectual Property Organization that aims to entertain occupants of future electric muscle cars with something called “Active Vibration Enhancement.” The patent was published way back in May 2023, slipping by everyone until Mopar Insiders discovered it this week, and also covers a complementary system called Active Sound Enhancement.
Together, the two systems work with advanced signal processors to turn real-time driving data – like motor speed, wheel speed, acceleration, and torque – into sensory experiences that the occupants can both hear and feel.
