The larger engine presented a weight penalty of about 66 to 88 lbs, but there were changes on the car to offset the weight, including using a carbon fiber drive shaft, a lightweight flywheel, and BBS FI-R wheels – each only weighing around 17.6 lbs. The rear seats are also removed, while the front occupants get to use Recaro bucket seats.
The lighter BMW M3 with a more potent engine should provide more thrilling runs than the stock powertrain. Despite the performance improvements, Captain Gaskrank wants to use the car as a daily only and not necessarily on the track.
