For the first time in 30 years, the Goodwood Festival of Speed has been canceled, particularly the penultimate day on Saturday. The organizers had to close the event site due to strong winds that not only can affect the cars participating in the hill climb shootout but also the eventgoers.
“It is with deep regret that we have taken the decision that the Goodwood Festival of Speed will not go ahead tomorrow (Saturday, July 15, 2023). After consulting meteorologists, health, and safety experts, and other key stakeholders, we have taken the decision to close the event due to severe wind warning in the Goodwood area,” said Goodwood Festival of Speed on its website.
