Hail strikes Michigan dealership

Hail strikes Michigan dealership

DETROIT — Intense storms swept through southeast Michigan Thursday afternoon, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and, in some places, large hail.

The hail hit Davison, Mich., hardest — striking almost every vehicle on Todd Wenzel Buick GMC’s lot. Davison is about 60 miles northwest of downtown Detroit.

“The dealership endured quite the hail storm today,” the dealership wrote in a Facebook post. “We have sustained damage to a large portion of our inventory and our building.”

The dealership remains open and can continue to service and sell vehicles, the dealership wrote.

Drew Smith, the store’s eastern Michigan regional director, declined to comment.

Nearby Hank Graff Chevrolet was also affected.

“Our business, along with many of our friends in the Davison community endured quite the hail storm today,” the dealership wrote on Facebook. “While we sustained damage to some buildings and a large number of our inventory, we are open for our normal business hours across all departments.”
