Here's How The Latest Batmobile Was Created

As for the design, it’s a blend of various muscle cars, but the most prominent are the Dodge Charger and Challenger. Even the interior was designed as a no-frills muscle car interior.

The production built four examples. There was one for ramming, a lightweight car for jumps and sideways driving, a pod car with controls for the stunt driver on the roof, and a hero car. Oddly, the hero car was all-electric. The three gas-powered vehicles were equipped with a 700-horsepower LS3 with a custom four-wheel-drive system. This allowed the team to send 100% of the power to the front or the rear.

Since this particular Batmobile was built for more than looking good, the stunt team put it through a strict test program. During this testing, they discovered what the machine could do, which impacted the action sequences.

We hope to see an upgraded version in Pattinson’s next movie. Thanks to The Flash, there are now four living Batmen, including Pattinson, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, and George Clooney. Five, if you count Lego Batman.
