As mentioned, the reveal will take place at The Quail, but for those not interested in seeing what the future has in store, Infiniti will be part of an exhibit called Design History at the Japanese Automotive Invitational. This is the fourth year that Infiniti will be involved with the event, located within the Concours Village.
Open from Thursday, August 17 to Saturday, August 19, from 9 AM-5 PM and on Sunday from 9 AM-6 PM, the exhibit will show quarter-scale design models to the public for the first time, with these showing a 1916 DAT 41 (one of the first Japanese production cars), a 1966 Prince Skyline 2000-GTB (the last Prince-badged model before Nissan took over the Skyline name), a 1970 Nissan Skyline H/T (the first model after Prince and Nissan merged), and a 1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R design model used to finalize the design of the sports car. The paint on this inspired the iconic Midnight Purple hue, and a matching R34 GT-R (life-size) will accompany it.
