
As mentioned, the Avenger is not destined for our shores because of our aversion to small vehicles. Instead, we’ll get an all-electric Wrangler alternative called the Recon, which is expected to arrive sometime this year. Based on the STLA Large architecture, one might expect this to be a Wrangler in spirit only, but Jeep promises an EV-specific version of its Selec-Terrain traction management system, locking axles, and all the other usual off-roading amenities like off-road tires, tow hooks, and bash plates. In fact, Jeep CEO Christian Meunier says the Recon can “cross the mighty Rubicon Trail, […] and reach the end of the trail with enough range to drive back to town and recharge.”
