The entry-level four-cylinder model starts at $99,900 in North America, which is $5,500 less than the flagship model. It is produced at the Hethel plant, but Lotus is reportedly looking to build a stateside plant.
As mentioned earlier, electrification is long due for the automaker. Lotus is making up for it as the 1,972-hp Evija hypercar EV will finally start to be delivered following its reveal four years ago. Meanwhile, the Chinese-built Eletre all-electric crossover began sales in China.
“We are firmly on track to becoming a global performance brand by 2028,” Lotus Group CEO Feng Qingfeng said in a statement.
