Meet The Facelifted VW Golf 8.5 America Is Missing Out On

All models, even the entry-level trim, receive automatic climate control, front and rear park assist, LED headlights, cruise control, keyless entry, and a Digital Cockpit. Next up is the Golf Life, which adds a wireless device charger, ambient lighting, adaptive cruise control, and 16-inch alloys.

The top-spec trims include the conservative Style trim and the sportier R-Line grade. Style receives chrome exterior trimmings, 17-inch wheels, 30-color ambient lighting, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear-view camera system. The R-Line has gloss black exterior elements, sportier 17-inch wheels, and premium sports seats with R-Line upholstery.

As mentioned, the GTE receives all sorts of aesthetic enhancements, along with three-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel with blue and black accents, and chequered premium sports seats.

Sadly, VW’s bread-and-butter model is not in the cards for America, which is a shame. At least we’re getting the updated Golf GTI, but it’s no longer available with a manual transmission.
