While the exterior is typically geometric and seems to blend every classic off-roader from the Defender to the Land Cruiser, the interior is touted as being minimalistic. It does, however, feature a pivoting screen, and naturally, prominent grab handles.
As with just about every EV in the year of our Lord 2023, the materials inside are recycled, with fabrics made from 50% recycled PET bottles, and several other eco-friendly measures like uncoated plastics.
There were no details presented about a powertrain, but we’d expect two motors and e-AWD. If it inherited the motors from the ID.4, we could easily see as much as 295 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, if not more.
When will it enter production? That’s another mystery, but when it does, we won’t rule out an attempted American launch of what Mahindra touts as “the ultimate off-road SUV for the next generation.” That’ll be a big mountain to climb for the Willys Jeep’s great-great-grandchild.
