As a safety measure, Ineos decided to recall a total of 706 examples produced from September 7 to October 10, 2023. Fortunately, no warranty claims related to the defect were reported.
The government agency noted that smoke may emanate from the cargo area when the relay short-circuits.
Ineos dealers will inspect the auxiliary package switch relay terminals as part of the remedy program. Affected units will have their damaged control wire section repaired or replaced, while defect-free units will have their control wiring secured with insulated tape as an added measure. Since all vehicles are covered by a warranty, the company does not plan to include a reimbursement program.
