Nio's Tesla Model S Fighter Drives Nearly 650 Miles On Single Charge

Chinese EV maker Nio may have an answer to range anxiety with its new 150 kWh ultra-long-range battery pack in the ET7, which is capable of driving over 1,000 km (621 miles) on a single charge.

The said range is impressive considering it beats some of the class-leading EVs, including direct rival Tesla Model S, which offers an EPA-rated range of 405 miles. That is a difference of roughly 200 miles or 50% of what the Tesla sedan can offer.

However, the figure is based on the CLTC standard, which is more forgiving than the EPA’s measurement. As such, we can expect lower numbers if ever the EPA gets its hands on the Nio ET7. Regardless, the ET7 still beats the Model S even under CLTC standards, with the latter offering a range of about 444 miles.
