As far as we can tell, this kit is made for the original 986-generation Boxster, which did not have a hard-top Cayman sibling. Not that it matters much because this kit makes the Boxster look almost unrecognizable. It also sounds completely different, although the tuner would not directly respond to comments asking what had been done. If Vale Automotive gets back to us, you’ll be the first to know.
Whatever it’s got going on under the hood, we hope it’s potent because this kind of styling needs the performance to back it up. From the rear, the car could almost be mistaken for a Bugatti Chiron, and with the vented fenders, large rear wing, and huge side intakes, you’d expect the Boxster GT1 to at least hold its own in a race against a modern 718.
